Aware of the endangered situation of these key ecosystems, FGN took some early steps toward the restoration of the lagoon at La Nava (Palencia), currently a Ramsar wetland.<\/p>\n<p>FGN has worked at over 100 Spanish wetlands, and eight more in other countries, with a total surface area of 14,000 ha. Fundaci\u00f3n Global Nature has cooperated with international projects in Colombia, the Philippines, Guatemala, Mozambique, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Senegal and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Living Lakes Network (61 wetlands) the Fundaci\u00f3n has cooperated with 26 partners in 15 countries to exchange knowledge on wetlands.<\/p>\n<p>To date, FGN has participated in 25 different\u00a0 LIFE Projects, all awarded by the European Commission, co-funded with over \u20ac25m.<\/p>\n<p>Among the projects conducted by Fundaci\u00f3n Global Nature relating to the conservation of wetlands we may mention the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restoration of albardine scrub and saline steppes in La Mancha H\u00fameda, Espa\u00f1a (LIFE10 NAT\/E\/000563)<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable husbandry of Wetlands and Shallow Lakes (LIFE00 ENV\/D\/000351)<\/li>\n<li>Canal de Castilla (LIFE99 NAT\/E\/6339)<\/li>\n<li>Conservation of the aquatic warbler in the ZEPA Nava-Campos\u201d (LIFE02 NAT\/E\/8616).<\/li>\n<li>Steppes of La Mancha LIFE15\/NAT\/ES000734<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section bb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
