A number of mounds must be removed to re-connect areas permanently under water with the new hydraulic infrastructure. A further task is to re-work the embankments to allow animals to circulate through the marsh. These slopes will be planted with iris (<em>Iris pseudacorus<\/em>) and great fen-sedge (<em>Cladium mariscus<\/em>) thus recovering autochthonous riparian vegetation and ensuring soil retention.
