Durante este mes de diciembre se han realizado los trabajos necesarios para la eliminaci\u00f3n parcial de las motas del arroyo central de drenaje de la laguna de Pedraza de Campos (Palencia). La actuaci\u00f3n ha consistido en el rebaje puntual de varios tramos del arroyo Madre, que vertebra la cubeta lagunar, con el objetivo de favorecer la propia laminaci\u00f3n del arroyo e incrementar el llenado natural del humedal, y recuperar as\u00ed su funcionalidad.<\/p>\n

Estas obras se enmarcan dentro de la Acci\u00f3n C5 del proyecto LIFE Paludicola (obras hidr\u00e1ulicas puntuales para la mejora de la inundaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n h\u00eddrica).<\/p>\n

La Nava de Pedraza de Campos<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La laguna de Pedraza de Campos o la Nava de Pedraza de Campos es una zona h\u00fameda esteparia situada al final de una cuenca semiendorreica cuyos principales afluentes son el arroyo Madre y el arroyo de El Sal\u00f3n, los cuales nacen en los cercanos p\u00e1ramos de Los Torozos.<\/p>\n

Se caracteriza por su temporalidad y escasa profundidad, inferior los 50 cm en la mayor parte de su superficie, lo que favorece la presencia de una l\u00e1mina de agua superficial, muy productiva y de gran diversidad animal y vegetal.<\/p>\n

Al igual que la mayor parte de las zonas h\u00famedas de Tierra de Campos, fue desecada a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XX para su posterior aprovechamiento agr\u00edcola. Sin embargo, en el a\u00f1o 2004 se inici\u00f3 un proyecto de restauraci\u00f3n llevado a cabo por la Fundaci\u00f3n Global Nature y el ayuntamiento de Pedraza de Campos, con la colaboraci\u00f3n de diversas entidades p\u00fablicas y privadas, que ha logr\u00f3 devolver su capacidad de inundaci\u00f3n en la primavera de 2008, con 72 de las aproximadamente 130 hect\u00e1reas originales.<\/p>\n
