Numerosas especies de aves acu\u00e1ticas reproductoras se han visto enormemente favorecidas gracias a varias actuaciones de restauraci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n h\u00eddrica llevadas a cabo entre 2018 y 2019 en las lagunas de Boada de Campos y Pedraza de Campos, Palencia, con el objetivo de recuperar y\/o mejorar la capacidad su inundaci\u00f3n.<\/strong> Estas obras se enmarcan dentro de la Acci\u00f3n C.5 del proyecto LIFE Paludicola y denominada \u201cObras hidr\u00e1ulicas puntuales para la mejora de la inundaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n h\u00eddrica\u201d. Adem\u00e1s, estos dos humedales son gestionados por la Fundaci\u00f3n Global Nature, que realiza censos peri\u00f3dicos junto al Servicio Territorial de Medio Ambiente de la Junta de Castilla y Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La enorme superficie inundada y el desarrollo de la vegetaci\u00f3n de las lagunas de esta primavera de 2020 se ha dejado notar sobre la comunidad de aves acu\u00e1ticas, especialmente las especies reproductoras. En total, se ha detectado la reproducci\u00f3n de 16 especies<\/strong>, 14 en la laguna de Boada y 12 en la laguna de Pedraza. Las m\u00e1s numerosas las gaviotas reidoras, las avefr\u00edas europeas y las cig\u00fce\u00f1uelas comunes.<\/p>\n

N\u00famero de parejas reproductoras de aves acu\u00e1ticas en 2020 en las lagunas de Boada y Pedraza, Palencia.<\/p><\/div>\n

Destaca la cr\u00eda de una pareja de aguja colinegra en la laguna de Pedraza,<\/strong> ya que constituye el segundo registro de reproducci\u00f3n de esta especie en la provincia de Palencia, despu\u00e9s de que criara con \u00e9xito una pareja hace ya 30 a\u00f1os, al inicio de la restauraci\u00f3n de la laguna de La Nava en 1990. Entre finales de abril y primeros de junio de 2020 en Pedraza ha permanecido una pareja con notables manifestaciones territoriales y defensa: gritos de alarma, vuelos en c\u00edrculo y comportamientos de distracci\u00f3n, si bien no se ha podido constatar a\u00fan el \u00e9xito de la cr\u00eda mediante la observaci\u00f3n de pollos o juveniles.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n destaca la reproducci\u00f3n de 86 parejas de gaviota reidora<\/strong> en la isleta de la laguna de Boada. Se trata de una especie que se reproduce regularmente en este humedal. El pasado a\u00f1o 2019 la colonia de gaviotas reidoras fue de 129 parejas y adem\u00e1s estuvo acompa\u00f1ada por otra especie de gaviota, la gaviota piconegra que cont\u00f3 con 250 parejas y que supuso su tercer registro de reproducci\u00f3n en la provincia de Palencia.<\/p>\n

Entre los peque\u00f1os p\u00e1jaros, los paseriformes, destaca la reproducci\u00f3n de la<\/strong> buscarla unicolor<\/strong>, con ocho machos cantores en Boada y dos en Pedraza. Es una especie escasa, pero en evidente expansi\u00f3n en muchos humedales de la meseta Norte, de hecho, los machos localizados en Pedraza constituyen la primera cita de reproducci\u00f3n en este humedal.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, las lluvias de abril han permitido un espectacular crecimiento de la vegetaci\u00f3n palustre y macr\u00f3fita<\/strong>, buen ejemplo de ello son la extensa superficie que ocupan varias especies del g\u00e9nero Chara, las denominadas praderas sumergidas de car\u00f3fitos<\/strong>, que son un tipo de alga verde clave en la din\u00e1mica ecol\u00f3gica de los humedales ib\u00e9ricos, responsables de mantener las aguas transparentes y difundir el ox\u00edgeno disuelto a las mismas.<\/p>\n

Respecto a las obras, por un lado, se han mejorado las infraestructuras de captaci\u00f3n y derivaci\u00f3n de agua<\/strong> hacia las lagunas mediante el arreglo de tomas de agua, compuertas y azudes; principalmente del arroyo del Sal\u00f3n en el caso de Pedraza y canal de Castilla en el caso de Boada. Por otro lado, se ha actuado en la propia cubeta lagunar, que en el caso de la laguna de Pedraza consinti\u00f3 en recuperar la conectividad central del arroyo Madre a trav\u00e9s de la eliminaci\u00f3n puntual de las motas de tierra<\/strong>, favoreciendo as\u00ed la laminaci\u00f3n natural del agua. Estas obras unidas a las importantes lluvias primaverales de 2020 han permitido una inundaci\u00f3n muy extensa de su superficie.<\/p>\n
