Within the framework of the call for granting of aid by Fundación Biodiversidad, on a non-competitive basis, for co-financing the projects supported under the LIFE programme in the field of biodiversity 2017, several of the LIFE Paludicola Project actions are supported by Fundación Biodiversidad for the first 15 months of their execution.
On 21 February 2018 part of the project’s technical team reported to the new Fundación Biodiversidad head office, to learn at first hand of the issues regarding the technical execution and financial grounding for this line of aid.
Fundación Biodiversidad is a public sector foundation set up by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment in 1988 to protect our country’s natural capital and our biodiversity. Its mission is to contribute to the protection and conservation of this country’s natural assets and biodiversity, on two fronts: carrying out major conservation projects, and channelling grants and funds – many of which are European funds – to conduct projects within other bodies such as NGOs, research bodies, universities, etc., working together in more than 300 projects each year.
